What is it?
The super deduction scheme offers 130% first-year relief on qualifying main rate plant and machinery investments until 31 March 2023 for companies.
This is significantly higher than the previous 18% writing down allowance for investment in main rate plant and machinery.
The net result of this is that under the scheme, for every £1 a company invests in qualifying equipment, their taxes will be cut by up to 25p.
Lets read that again “For every £1 spent the company production equipment £1.25 is received in tax relief”
An example
If you spend £50,000 with Robotas you will be able to deduct £65,000 (130% of your investment) against your taxable profits (corporation tax).
Who is eligible?
The super deduction allowance is only available to companies based in the UK who pay corporation tax. This saving is significant because it offsets the upcoming increase in corporation tax from 19% to 25% from April 2023. This will apply to companies with more than £50,000 in profit (those with fewer profits will pay corporation tax at the current 19% rate).
